Recently I've been busy making lots of handmade things for my birthday party which I'm really excited about, but also for my outfit. I'm still in the process of making my blue pinny for my costume but I made this sweet lace collar to go with my outfit as well. If you didn't know already I dressing up as Alice In Wonderland and thought I would add my own little vintage twist to it! :) I also met my lovely friend Sarah who you may know from the secret garden photo shoot and she was delighted to be my model for this little gem. Here's how to make it:You will need:
  • Fabric
  • Cotton Lace
  • A Button
  • Sewing Machine
  • Iron
  • Scissors
  • Pins

1.Measure around your neck {Mine was 22inches} and cut a piece of fabric with a width of 11cm and the length to be of your neck measurements. Fold in half, pin and with scissors curve the ends like above. 2.With a 1cm seam allowance sew the Curved edges and the open side but leave a 20cm gap. Then turn inside out. Then iron your collar flat. 3.Cut a piece of lace the length of the bottom edge of your collar. Pin it and sew on. This will sew up the gap as well. 4.Pick a button to go with your collar.5.Sew the button onto the collar shown up above. Then either make a button hole or with thick thread sew a loop big enough for your button. 6.Finish the loop of with a knot on the back of the collar shown above.
Then wear your collar with pride knowing that it totally handmade! By the way I've been making lots of felt and paper moustaches, bow-ties and glasses ready for the photo booth and have been crazily making garlands for my birthday party on Sunday. By the way did you know I am 15 tomorrow!Isn't Harry the dog just the cutest! Have a lovely day! Much Love. Becky XPhotobucket
