Have you ever wondered where some of the traditions come from that we celebrate today?
Here are some fun facts about Valentine's Day that I thought you might enjoy.
Happy Valentine's Day everyone-Enjoy!

1. The origin of Valentine's Day began in ancient Rome as a holiday to honor Juno, Queen of the Roman Gods and Goddesses.
2. More than 36 million heart-shaped boxes of chocolates are sold for Valentine's Day each year.

3. About 1 billion Valentine's cards are exchanged in the United States each year.
4. In the Middle Ages, young men & women drew names from a bowl to see who their Valentine's would be. They would then wear these names on their sleeves for 1 week. To "wear your heart on your sleeve" now means that it is easy for other people to know how you are feeling.
5. Richard Cadbury invented the 1st Valentines Day candy Box in the late 1800's.
6. 73% of those who buy flowers for Valentine's Day are men, while only 27% are women.

7. The red rose was the favorite flower of Venus, the Roman goddess of love.
8. Red roses are considered to be the flower of love because the color stands for strong romantic feelings.

Hope everyone enjoys a Valentine's Day filled with true love and joyous laughter.
