Caramel Popcorn Balls Recipe
Today I am sharing with all of you another family favorite recipe. It is easy and lots of fun to make with the kiddos. Oh, and did I forget to tell you that it is incredibly yummy, too? Hope you enjoy-I know my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Caramel Popcorn Balls
What you will need:
5 Tablespoons of vegetable oil
2 1/2 cups popcorn-unpopped
1/4 cup of butter
1 cup of light brown sugar-packed
1/2 cup light corn syrup
2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
What you will need to do:
Add 1 Tablespoon of the vegetable oil into a 4 quart saucepan-covered-and heat over high heat. When the oil is hot, add 1/2 cup of the popping corn. Keep pan moving constantly. When corn stops popping, remove from heat. Next place popped corn in the oven to stay warm. Repeat until all the corn has been popped; set aside.
In a medium saucepan using a candy thermometer, combine butter, sugar and corn syrup. Stir well and bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir in the condensed milk, simmer-stirring constantly, until the thermometer gets to 238 degrees. Stir in the vanilla. Pour caramel over popped corn and stir to coat. Butter your hands lightly, then shape popcorn into balls(about 3-4 inches in diameter. Enjoy!Pin It Now!
