When we think of Valentine's Day, we usually think of romance, chocolates, candle lit dinners and roses, right? If you are a parent like I am then it is probably about a little bit more than that. Valentine's Day isn't just for us grown ups-it's about our children too and showing them just how much they are loved as well. But, just what do you do for your kids for Valentine's day? Need some gift ideas? Here is a list for our kiddos-let's not leave them out on this special day.

1. Children's books- if your kids are anything like my daughter then they love to read and/or be read to. There are many charming books that would be perfect, my daughter likes The Kissing Hand.
and Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram. You can even check with your local library if buying new books aren't in the budget; you can always check them out.
2. It's tough to go wrong with the right stuffed animal or teddy bear.
All kids like to cuddle with their favorite soft toy or stuffed animal, especially when it's bedtime. My daughter has several that she just can't go to sleep without. 3. Bake some love-let your little ones help you make some special Valentine's cookies or treats. My little girl loves to help me make cookies. Buy some heart-shaped cookie cutters and let them help you cut them out and then decorate them.
4. Make it movie night-for the kids. Pick out a couple great movies for them to watch. One of my daughter's favorites is Winnie the Pooh movie or even one of the classic "Princess" movies. Just make sure it is something they really enjoy. And don't forget to hug them and tell them just how much they are loved and cherish!
